NRP Skills Session
The AAP Neonatal Resuscitation Program is a required certification for all healthcare providers who come into contact with newborns.
The AAP NRP Skill Session course format requires learners to first study Neonatal Resuscitation material, and then complete an online exam.
During the NRP skill session, students have the opportunity to practice and demonstrate their proficiency in performing essential resuscitation techniques on newborns.
After completing the AAP NRP exam, learners must then attend an interactive course that includes only a hands-on NRP skills test.
CEH: 5 CE Hours Awarded
There are 2 parts to obtaining your NRP certification.
- Part 1: Complete the Exam Certificate of Completion through online exam and course survey. Visit the NRP 8th Edition online exam to access the test.
- Part 2: Attend an instructor-led NRP skills session by Elite Medical Training at one of our NRP Training locations.
Note: There is an additional fee of $35, which you pay to the American Academy of Pediatrics.
NRP 8th Edition Textbook
The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) requires that students purchase the Neonatal Resuscitation Program textbook. Purchase the 8th Edition Neonatal Resuscitation Textbook for $76.95.
The NRP textbook is considered the definitive resource in the United States. It undergoes regular updates every five years.

Based on Hospital preference, select the Essentials exam, or Advanced exam. Once completed, email or bring a copy of the certificate of completion.
STEP 4
After the skills session, return to the online NRP Learning Platform and log-back in. Your NRP eCard should be located in the My Certificates & eCards Tab.

This allows you to receive both cards on the same day.
